May 2007 Barbara & Bill were the hosts for the pot luck at Harvey’s on Sunday, May 20th , and provided the ham and chicken. The gray day didn’t affect our dispositions and, as usual, the conversation slowed down only long enough to enjoy the delicious buffet. A different kind of treat was catching up with longtime members Jerry & Diane and Johnny, whom we hadn’t seen for awhile. Thanks to Barbara & Bill for hosting, and to Harvey for inviting us into his home.
In the picture above, Harvey is showing off his hybrid plant to Marvin and Linda. He developed this hybrid, the only one of its kind in the world, from an Aechmea Servitensis and an Aechmea Orlandiana. His hybrid took six years to grow, and he named it Aechmea Marvin Baryo. |
