February 16th - Several
of our membersjoined the Hill
Country Nudists for a nude dinner at El Mercado Restaurant on February 16in
Austin. This was followed by a nude viewing of the best of the figure drawing
classes at the Austin Coalition ofArtists annual show.
March 9th - If you think
you can't get a sunburn in March you're wrong. Fifteen members attended a
potluck lunch and lounge around the pool party at Harvey's. Those of
us not thinking about sunscreen this early in the year were very
sorry. The pool was obviously too cold but the hot tub was
great. Even though the high temperature was only 69 degrees the
cloudless sky and strong sun made it feel like summer.
March 23rd - Diane made a
beautiful brideas she and Jerry tied the knot at Riverside on
Saturday, March 23. The ceremony was
attended by many of their friends from BRS and Riverside.
April 14th - Potluck and Hot tub at Bob & Alys'
May 26th - Our first party at Terry and Diane's new
house. Man is it nice! It was the first time anyone has ever
been in their new pool.
June 15th - Swim an potluck dinner at Roxie's
place. There must have been over 30 people there. The pool and
backyard were great and so was the food. It was a Southwest Texas
themed barbecue with Rudy's secret sauce. Even the Press showed up
for interviews.
June 23rd - Swim an potluck dinner at
Herb's. Great attendance!
July 20th - Swim party at Terry and Dianne's.
Great turnout! Close to 30 people. Barbecue Ribs and sausage
for all.
July 28th - Malcolm reports
that those who joined him to go tubing down the river in San Marcos had a
delightful time. He said it far exceeded the level of enjoyment one gets
on the Comal River. Other quotes heard during their float included: "as
close to heaven as it gets" and "those who did not come missed a wonderful
time." Malcolm plans another tubing trip in September.

August 10th - Swim party at
Herb's.
It was a big It was a big big big big crowd big crowdthat got together at Herb’s on
Saturday, August 10, including guests Charlie &Alice. Herb fixed his
usual baked ham, and a fine job he did of that, too. Everyone else brought
appropriate accompaniments including some scrumptious desserts. What more
can we say?
August 18th - Potluck and swim party at Harvey and
Jeff's.
And it was another big crowd And it was another big crowdat Harvey & Jeff’s the following
week on Sunday, August 18,
The picture on the right was taken towards the end of the day. There
was lots of food as always, and a highlight on the dessert table was
Kathryn’s "Kitty Litter Cake." It was a lot better than it sounded and
looked. (She assured us that the
kitty
litter pan she used was new and unused.)
October 20th
It started out as a dismal
weekend, but turned into a beautiful
day at Terry & Diane’s on Sunday, October 20, after all. Terry got the
spa part of their new pool up to about 100°, and everyone alternated
between that and the pool which was about 80°.
November 17th
Our Thanksgiving party at Harvey & Jeff’s on Sunday,
November 17, was a big success with 36 attending.
Nancy had arranged with Casey’s Bar-B-Q to provide all the food
including turkey, pork loin, brisket, and all the trimmings including
scrumptious desserts. We all very patiently waited for Casey’s delivery
man to arrive with all the food for two reasons: (1) We were looking
forward to a great meal, and (2) we were waiting fully dressed so as to
not embarrass the delivery man. He no sooner got out the door, when
clothes started flying. Happily, they missed the grandly laid out
feast!
The weather was so nice, most of us sat outside in the sun.
Who would have expected that in November? Thanks to Nancy for arranging
for all the food with BRS picking up the tab, and to Harvey & Jeff for
providing their home for the event.
December 14th
Dave & Geri report that everyone had a good time at the
Christmas party at their home on Saturday,December 14. They had a good
turnout of approximately 36 people. There were a group of people
outside
around a campfire on the deck, and
other groups throughout the house. Geri outdid herself with the pastries
(again), complementary hats with 2002 BRS were given out for our little
group. Dave would like to thank Casey for helping them prepare their home
for the party. Not only did he cut the grass, but also helped cut wood for
the fire, and even direct traffic (parking) for all the guests. What a
guy! And BRS wants to thank Dave & Geri for hosting the
party.
